The one of Dread was cast out by the Divine
Who accused them all day in his own mire
Restless he was until the fullness of time
And he was thrown down into the raging fire
He fell like thunder hurtling towards the Deep
Never to enter again the Domain of Known
Always separated from the light, down he would seep
A prisoner of woe held in chains of his own
But the lowly and free come, gather the chorus
Hear the sweet voice of the one who fought long
He comes riding upon a single white horse
Opening his mouth; a sword pierces the throng
Eyes of flames of fire burn within
Burning the pains of our past, life he brings anew
A cape dipped in blood, He conquered sin
Written upon it, Faithful and True
A tattoo of scarlet covers his right thigh
Revealing his name, the great name
Above every other written upon the sky
Stooping low serving, healing; never the same
Everything held close to his breast
The secrets of old, always keeper of the sin he bore
His heart is full of light and gives rest
His chest opens; his ways are unknown executing war
Upon the Liar, the one who accused us all
Sending his army of winged creatures
The leader, the valiant striking the wicked hall
Brought down low destroyed all of his allures
Watching, waiting, he stirs the whole universe
With one cry of his heart, he says, “Be without pain
“Come out all the oppressed by the perverse
Come dine with me, who held firm in the strain”
Gathering from the far reaches of the bind
Creatures of strange and wondrous essence
Beings of an ancient and far knowing kind
Hailed him, extolling the man of righteousness
Swift like lightning he straddled with loud-voiced
The beast shot out glowing like the sun as it were
As the ancients bowed and children rejoiced
Hearing the man whom they called Conquerer
Nothing marked him of royalty
A man seemingly short and comely
Though he approached the throne of loyalty
As he hastened to meet him as he bowed lowly
A crown of shiny jewels of different colors all the more
Shining all in the sea of glass, a world of wonder
Kaleidoscope of dreams glistening like the waters on the shore
Placed on his head as all the earth shook like thunder
Radiating like a warm fire he brought, riding a hansom
Commanded he did not, no offering concerned him
But only to give himself for many, a ransom
Love for his people, jealous always on a whim
Continually offering as a kingly-priest knight
Sacrificing for men’s wickedness, never to cease
Always journeying in the Realm of Light
Guiding the deeds of men to everlasting peace
