Seven Kingdoms: The Ice Queen
Beware the Snow Witch, she brings with her the frigid air, the bitter unforgiving cold from the Outer Realm...
In the Outer Realm where the cold is strong and the winter’s rough, the elegant white-clothed and frost-tipped Queen stretches out her fingers to the young girl and boy.
“Take my hand, and I shall grant your heart’s desire.” The Ice Queen’s royalty demands respect, but her icy blue crystal eyes hold a terrible evil.
Yuri is unsure as he sees his sister’s hand reaching out slowly. He hangs back as Yala stands on her tiptoes and reaches for the White Queen upon her snowy white throne.
“Wait, Yala,” Yuri says grieved by the Ice Queen’s icicle dagger behind her back. “Don’t…”
“Don’t WHAT?” The Ice Queen in her white flowing coat made of dead winter fox fur, unsheathes her ice dagger and tries to impale Yala. But the children run and evade her clutches.
“COME BACK,” she roars. Her white fangs grow slightly in her evil jaws.
The siblings run down the icy corridors as they see four Yetis corner them in the Hall of Ice. Large sheets of ice rise up on either side as the kids look at themselves in the frosted mirror. Their reflections go on for ages. The four Yetis crowd them as they hear the cursing and screaming of the Queen maliciously approaching them.
“Her Majesty is furious, wretched children,” the leader of the pack says deeply toned. “You should have done what she said, now you shall be punished severely.”
The white gorilla Yeti smiles delightfully, his fangs hanging from his huge mouth as the pack closes in on the kids.
“Yala?” Yuri asks.
“Yes, Yuri,” she responds trembling.
“Do you remember what Dad always used to say?”
“I can’t remember. Why does it matter?” Yala says annoyed.
The Queen enters furious, her eyes like isolated ice caps swimming in the cold ocean.
“Remember, he used to say, ‘Never run. Always fight.’ Remember?”
“I do now,” Yala says taking hold of her mallet.
“Oh, you nasty children are quick, aren’t you,” The evil Queen says walking slowly and scraping her dagger on the walls like the villain she is.
“Yes, that’s all I want, little girl. Your youth, I need a better body than this… old filthy one, and yours is just right!”
“But he used to say,” Yala retorts. “Run when necessary!” She swings the mallet right in the Queen’s face as she blocks the blow flinging Yala onto the ground. Quickly, she runs through the Queen’s legs.
Suddenly, Yuri runs and climbs the icy wall like a spider crawling with ice picks he had hidden in his coat.
“Get them!” The Queen shouts. The two sets of Yetis go after each child.
Yuri evades them as they swing down the icy halls climbing and swinging on the arches of snow and ice that are up near the ceiling. Utilizing the ice picks furiously, he finds a small icy hole off to the side. The Yetis try to grab him rushing upon it but it is too small for them to fit through. Shouting like snow apes, they try to find the exit where he would crawl out.
Yala cuts one of them with her mallet but is taken by one of them and thrown at the Ice Queen’s feet. She is tall, a tower of icy frigidness destined for power and woe. Dark magic hides behind her seemingly peaceful appearance.
“Oh, you poor thing,” she pouts mocking Yala. “Now, be a good girl and give me your hand.”
“Never, you kidnapped us and brought us here in this frigid and lonely place where no one can find us. You’re a witch!”
“Hmmm, nasty little bugger,” she says quietly and coolly. “Be careful what you wish for.” She takes out her white tree bark staff that glows with a blue crystal embedded on the top. An icy blue light shines, making her whole body radiate a darkness, a deep blue void of joy.
Her true form is revealed, her hair becomes an ugly mustard color, and her face, an old shriveled deformed lady. She laughs wickedly piercing Yala’s ears as her dress becomes a dark deep blue, her fingers stretch out and become like monster claws, and her feet are strange like a tiger’s, hairy and sharp claws protruding out. Her eyes are a nasty green shining in the crystal icy palace walls.
“The Queen is gone! And a dark sorceress shall have her stay!”
The palace shakes and roars with all its might, but Yala escapes and slips through the Yeti’s clutches.
Agile and small like a little chipmunk prancing about the white rooms and corridors, she hears the echoes reverberating through to the main entrance and runs as the icy gates close clanging incessantly.
She slides under and escapes capture, but the frozen waters below shake as evil blue fish creatures with scaly skin and dark sunken eyes glow at her looking like women’s faces as they sing a terrible but soothing song.
It rises slightly in her mind and hypnotizes Yala as she stands there perplexed finding herself drawn to their lonely whispers. Their deadened tune brings her to the edge of the little bridge and cold waters.
Yuri comes around on the outer side of the bridge as he escapes. He faces the terrible icy fortress as he hears the Witch’s screams. The Yeti and other terrible voices and shrieks come out of the giant icicle castle.
“Yala! Do you hear me? Come on! We gotta go!” But the songs draw her closer in.
Then suddenly Yuri is drawn to the sirens. The wicked deceivers sing to the children. The siblings gaze down at them wanting to hear their awful songs as the pretty young ladies put out their hands.
“It’s OK,” they say in unison. “We won’t hurt you.”
Suddenly Yala snaps out of it and smacks their hands as they hiss in anger. Yuri’s head snaps back as he screams and sees their awful fangs and nasty claws trying to reach for him. But the sirens cannot reach them, they cannot walk on land, but only swim. They scream in horror as the siblings run away free at last.
“Let us make haste!” Yala says.
“Wh-what was that,” Yuri asks in shock. “We need to tell someone about this!”
“I know who just to tell.”
Yala looks back and as she does, her heart drops.
A giant white dragon with deep navy eyes, giant fangs, and bat-like wings soars in the night sky. The Ice Witch rides the frozen beast heading towards their small village right on the outskirts of the Outer Realm ready to engulf their home in orange flames.
She laughs miserably overflowing in a frosty froth, “The Snow Witch has come, bow down before the Second Omen! The Frost Frigid One has come to entrap the land in her evil icy grip.”
