Not the Broadway show…
He is my only light
Salvation through his might
Who will I fear?
He surrounds near
To defend like a rock
Who does unlock
Our hearts and uplift
Us in our time so swift
To devour, to assail
Our foes he’ll never fail
To nail to their coffins
All the oppressive sins
Though war arise
I will trust in no lies
I ask only this:
I will seek bliss
I want to dwell
In the springs that well
Up to new life
The spirit is like a fife
I wanna be
Next to beauty, you see
To be in the abode
Where nothing gets sold
He will cover me
In the bad days that be
Conceal me in your tent
Set me high upon cement
My head will lift
As I see my foes drift
But I will leave
My heart to sieve
Sacrifices with shouts of joy
I shall see the royal boy
I will sing
Peace you bring
Be gracious
Seek my face
Do not hide
Come and abide
Help me, my portion; my lot
Forsake me not
My folks hide
All they do is chide
But you will take me up
You will fill my cup
Lead me on the path
Wash me in the bath
Falsehood is many
Slanderers are ready
Breathing violence
None have piousness
I know I shall see
Goodness as I bend the knee
The land of living
Fills me with thanksgiving
Wait
Satiate
The thirst that’s never the same
Who called you by name
Be strong; take courage
Yes, I say this to encourage
