In the silence, all noise is gone
My friend was here all along
In the massive quiet of my heart you reside
Deep down in the recesses you hide
I could not for so long bear the pain
Feeling I could never regain
It was too strong I didn’t know its name
Never wanting to face it until surely you came
Like the wind, you bring me in
Deeper and further into your inn
A warm fire, a crooked old chair
A cozy room fully decked with no snare
A vibrant room fully furnished
With nothing but refurbished
Trinkets and gifts that you give
And I receive without pay to live
Cozy up in my favorite chair
And lend my ear to a story in your lair
As you bring me a hot drink
And I drift off into sleep I slink
Into the comfortable place of dreams
I escape further into sleep, I beam
Never would I be able to give back to you
But you know it is all too true
As I come to myself I realize I did not move
My place, my seat didn’t change, I wake and you soothe
My restless heart, my mind, my will
You never did let me out of your hill
I wandered through the valleys slowly I would
Wandering, moving as fast as I could
Into the hills I retreat, I didn’t know what it cost
Without a thought, to see beauty that I lost
And only here do I find nothing but misery
But you reside in the chapel seeming to use wizardry
But no, you do not, You Are
Power, Love all in one even if one finds you far
Closely you draw near to this land
Near all men and women looking for your hand
Kneeling down before you, worshiping
The face of Love they praise and sing
But all in the silence of their body
All left to praise the Almighty
The peace, the quiet, he heals
Never knowing quite how he deals
My heart does not comprehend,
My life does not resemble to ascend
The mountain of the Lord is real
The little chapel on a hill is sealed
With a grace so profound
I would never have found
Until I left in the car and saw the signs
And sped across county lines
Dodging cars and swerving I raced
To find someone except you in their place
You, my true heart’s desire as I stray from the light
I enter into my own sort of dreadful night
Of my own making, I enter deeper into pains
Unforetold into the agonizing reins
Of my own ugly and treacherous mind
I enter into dialogue of nefarious kind
But you bring me back to your den
You brought me to yourself once again
In the bread, in the wine
That becomes truly your Body Divine
Bringing us all back to your house
To worship you all in this place you rouse
In the silence, you come with swift feet
Our hearts, you come to defeat
